Following graduation from law school, Steve has served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Chief of Staff to the Kansas Senate Majority Leader, Corporate Counsel, and since 1990, as Government Affairs and Legal Counsel to various professional associations and corporations. Including his time as Chief of Staff for the Senate Majority Leader, 2019 is his 30th year under the dome.

Abe is the most recent addition to our team, joining Kearney and Associates, Inc. as an Attorney and Lobbyist. Admitted to practice law in Kansas, he will be providing counsel to and representing the interests of the firm’s clients. Abe, a native of WaKeeney, earned an associate degree from Washburn University before graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Fort Hays State University, majoring in Political Science. He recently earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Kansas School of Law, where his studies focused on public policy and statutory interpretation. During law school, he worked as a Law Clerk for the Kansas Attorney General’s Civil Litigation Division and as a Compliance Specialist for Kansas Athletics, Inc. Abe has extensive legislative experience, beginning as a session intern for numerous legislators, and later, as Legislative Liaison for the Majority Leader of the Kansas House. His experiences include working on a gubernatorial campaign and running numerous legislative campaigns. 2022 will mark Abe’s 7th year working under the dome of the state capitol.

With over thirty years of experience in Kansas politics and public policy, Rob is well versed in the role of government at the local, state, and national levels. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University where he majored in Political Science, Rob came to Topeka where he was a Management Analyst in the Department of Administration for the State of Kansas. During that time, he also volunteered for many local and statewide candidates in his free time. Rob started his legislative experience when he became the first full-time, year-round staff person for the Speaker Pro Tem of the Kansas House. He later worked on some congressional campaigns before working for the Senate Majority Leader, and then the Senate President of the Kansas Legislature in various roles. This legislative work garnered him experience with the many public policy issues lawmakers constantly deal with. In recent years, Rob has been working as a lobbyist for Kearney and Associates, Inc. His combined tenure as a legislative staffer and as a lobbyist means that the 2019 legislative session will be his 30th under the dome of the state capitol.

Jeff has worked in the Kansas Statehouse in various capacities since 1990. Wagaman recently retired as the Kansas Securities Commissioner. During his public service career he has worked for four Kansas statewide elected officials: Governor, State Treasurer, Attorney General, and Kansas Insurance Commissioner. He formerly served as the Chief of Staff to the Senate President and Senate Majority Leader. Wagaman was the former Chief Professional Officer of a non profit for two years and served his community as a Reserve Sheriff's Deputy for four years. Wagaman has with BA from Washburn University and his Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. He is a fifth generation Kansan and native of Topeka. He has served on numerous boards and volunteered for many local organizations and charities.
